It has a peat free formula but with the addition of loam gives the seeds a base fertiliser to begin their germination and establishment of young plants. Our John Innes Seed Peat Free compost is a best seller for sowing seeds and seedlings as it provides a balanced nutrient supply, the loam based composition makes it easier to water and to re-wet it also acts as a store for water retention. Moregro Ericaceous Compost
Our peat free ericaceous compost is primarily comprised of bio fibre and wood fibre. Our fibres are by-products of sustainably managed forests showing our fight against climate change. The rich formula is high in iron and other nutrients to prevent conditions such as lime-induced chlorosis which results in the plant not flowering well and yellow leaves. The main advantage to our compost is the enrichment of seaweed which provides over 60 trace elements such as nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus and gypsum to the soil. This helps with a number of activities such as stimulating seed germination, enhanced plant growth and health, enhanced disease resistance and remediation of pollutants that may be in the soil.
